Phases of total lunar eclipse, 21 February 2008, as seen from South Africa.
It was awesome to sit outside and watch this happen. The first shot was taken @ 3.54am and the last one 4.54am.

@Michael Skorulski: Thanks Michael!
What an intriguing photo of the moon eclipse, and Mar Twain's words are very true. Everyone has a dark side, a shadow.

@givethemhell: Thank you my friend! I think when we can manage to lit the darkside we can taste 'freedom'!
Excellent series - very very interesting!

Beautiful, Ina! And, just curious, what was the temperature at 3:54 a.m.? Here it occurred between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. and it was COLD.

@Ron: Thank you Ron! It was a lovely summer's morning, bit cloudy here and there, but overall great. I would say it was about 16 degrees C. Tanks for your interest!

@Lorraine: Thanks Lorraine~!
Nice Ina! I especially like the way you captured the last burning edge and the redness of totality. You were up very early/late for this one.
The eclipse here (cambridge massachusetts) went the opposite way, from left to right, perhaps because we're on the other side of the equator. It was well below freezing here - maybe minus 5 celsius - too cold to stand around in, so we kept going in and out.
24 Feb 2008 10:42am
@baobab: Thanks! I was up early - the weather was great!
Nice Ina! Here it was too cold to be outside for long, and also too many ice crystals in the air, so my attempts are not very good.

@vu@granby - Wolfgang Prigge: Maybe you are lucky next time!
