He is quite a sight, your marabou stork, especially those long bony legs.

@givethemhell: I know, funny looking fella! Look AT A SIDEVIEW!
A fantastic pose. What a wonderful composition and detail. It has a painting-like quality.

@Michael Skorulski: Thanks Michael!
Agree with Michael, the dark background in this excellent shot makes this look like a zoological study. Still scared of the bird, though.

@Ronnie 2¢: Thanks Ronnie! Yeah... I don't trust these guys either! Being short, it feels a bit intimidatig when he is almost as high as I am :))
You captured the incredible detail in the feathers, Ina - a gorgeous shot!

Love it with the black background... I agree with you I am short also and they look intimidating.

HHi Ina - this is a great shot, though quite a difficult onje to comment on. The beauty of the plumage contrasts quite starkly with the head and neck (looks like the poor thing has been in a fight!), but a really good capture.

Ina, this is an outstanding capture. The clarity and detail is superb. An excellent example to show this bird. I know that is the way they look but they don't seem to be self conscience do they. Very nice image.

Great composition and detail (maybe a little too much detail - he is a scary looking bird!). With his scary look and size I certainly wouldn't want to meet up with him in a dark alley. I really like the composition where the line of his beak is echoed in his legs - well done!

@Chris: Thanks Chris!
spectacular sot! I love that I had to scroll down to see the whole shot! It emphasized his height.

what a striking pose... excellent lighting, and the edges of the feathers are nice and distinct-- seems almost as though your subject is a little shy..

Brilliant shot, the details of the feather are fantastic. Composition is spot on and have to agree with Chris's comments on the lines from beak to leg.

@Rags: Mommy must have been so glad to see you that she did not look at the stork well :) This one is family of the REAL one that brought you - here you can see what the stork looks like, that brought you to her :)
